Its monsoon season and one can face several problems in this time of the year. For one, your house must be weatherproof and second, the interior décor should be maintained. To maintain the home décor during the onslaught of monsoon, one needs to be well equipped and prepared. Dark clouds often give us that dull look. To take care of that, house must be decorated in bright colors. It will help in enhancing your mood and will add a dash of light to the house. One should go for green and reserve blue colors. For better effects, one can also opt for yellow and orange as these are bright colors. Because of clouded skies, light colors should be avoided at this time of the year. Absolutely light colors like beige and white should be avoided.

 

With the rain falling incessantly, one should keep all the plants out in the rain so that they can get natural water. If you are fond of plastic plants then go for colorful ones like orchids and yellow sunflowers. Monsoon is too dangerous for your expensive carpets. Remove it till the monsoon lasts. Keep your precious carpets in plastic sheet therefore preventing it from leakage and moisture. If you have to have a carpet then you can buy a brightly colored machine made acrylic washable carpet. Quite light and it dries faster. Coir mat or a decorative bamboo is a cheap alternative to this.

Keep all your important documents in a plastic sheet or waterproof case or box. Ideally one should have translucent window drapes during monsoon. Lace curtains are often recommended in this season. Check out for any cracks in the house. If found, use plaster of Paris and fill all the cracks. Use rubber lining between sliding windows to keep the seeping water away. These small steps will go a long way in keeping your home décor intact.
