For decorating your bedroom you need to take care of a lot of things right from curtains, pillows, cupboards to small hardware items like bed parts, knobs, trunk parts, lamps, drawer pulls, hinges, hooks, door hardware, casters, key hole, single post pulls, covers etc. You also need to pay special attention to wall hangings, kinds of paintings you want to use, colour theme, lamps and other minor details. People who prefer antique bedroom need to buy their furniture accordingly.  It greatly adds to the beauty of a bed room. Antique bedroom furniture usually has golden appearance and has a lot of decorative items.

Bean bags, old sofa sets, old antique mirrors, different types of lamps, lanterns, hand made photo frames, ancient art wall hangings can give a very ethnic and exclusive feel to your bedroom. Try and stick to one type of color scheme. It is easy to get carried away but stick to what you have chosen. Bedroom furniture is usually made of wood, but these days plastics can also be used. See if you like some variety in that but wood is what is always recommended.

If you are artistically inclined, you can actually design or paint your own curtains, design the side tables, the chests and other kind of furniture items. In case you have a interest in sculpture art, chose antique show pieces and pots that enhance the value of your bedroom. Whatever, it is one thing is for sure: if you are involved with the designing and the decorative bit of your room, it will make all the creative difference!

Who wouldn’t love a house surrounded by lush green trees and flowers spread all around? In fact, that’s the dream of many a person who would give a hand or two to live in such houses and situations. But then, we also have to cater to growing population and decreasing space. Now, owning such houses are more like a mere fallacy and perhaps only the rich and luxurious can avail such facilities. Now a day, what we have is apartments and flats with just balconies, in the name of outdoor space. Well, you cannot do much in such conditions but remember you always have the option of bringing nature indoors, by keeping indoor plants. These plants will not only bring some freshness in your house but also enliven the ambience.

So now that you have decided to go for indoor plants, it’s high time we talk about how to take care of them.  Most of the indoor plants are quite okay with normal temperature fluctuation but they also grow at faster rate in cooler climate. So what you need to do is to maintain a cooler temperature at night so that plants grow appropriately. Ideally, night temperature should be kept 10 to 15 degrees lower than the day temperature.

Try not to have excessively low or high temperatures because that will adversely affect the plant growth. Indoor plants should have little exposure to light in an indirect way. You can also arrange for artificial sources of lighting. You will also need to rotate indoor plants on a regular basis so that all the parts receive equal amount of light. Bring your home plants outside once in every 15 days for fresh air. While watering your indoor plants, maintain the balance.
