Oceanic Bedroom

Now there are a lot of styles and themes that you can choose from while designing a bedroom. This is especially true while designing children’s bedroom. I have seen some children are really fascinated by water and ocean and all that. Why not design a bedroom with an ocean theme? Sound’s exciting? Here are ways to effectively design your room with this theme.

One first starts with designing the walls as this will form the backdrop of the entire theme. The walls have to be in shades of blue. There are a wide variety of shades available. I would prefer light blue with waves on the walls that are artistically done using different shades of the same colour. This bit has to be done with precision and hence I advice taking help of a professional cause doing this your way may completely ruin the picture. You obviously do not want a room that is too dark or it will make the room gloomy and dull. At the same time, a room painted with a colour that is too light will not really add charm to the room. The first step is to determine which colour will suit the walls is to first choose a few options from a shade card. Paint a small area to see whether the desired effect comes out or not.

Now once the base is ready, details can be looked into. Get the door frame, window frame and other frames of the room painted using shades of blue. Also the lower part of the walls can be like a sea floor with shells, vegetation painted on it. You can hang various painted fishes alongside the wall and stick shells on the floor. As far as the furniture is concerned, you can customize it and make it in the shape of sea creatures. Instead of plain knobs install fish shaped knobs for greater effect of the theme. And last but not the least, make sure that your child is part of the decision making.
