When it comes to choosing the paint, there is no dearth of choices. Whether you want to do it yourself or hire someone to do it for you, you can choose from plenty of paint choices. For instance, Alkyd is oil based solvent thinned paint. Alkyd paint has always been a popular choice for heavy traffic areas like cabinets, kitchen, doors and bathrooms etc. it helps in creating a smooth surface. Latex flat enamel is another useful choice. The paint has the benefit of latex and is actually more durable than normal latex. It’s quite easy to clean up but the finish is often flat.

Enamel paint provides you with a nice gloss. It is perfectly suitable for areas that are heavily used and need to be washed regularly. The interesting thing about enamel is that it can be available in both alkyd as well as latex form. If you are looking for heavy duty paint then look no further than floor and deck paint. It is mostly used outside on decks and is quite resistant to chips and cracks. High moisture areas will do well with epoxy paint that used two coatings. It can be easily cleaned also.

Always go for high quality paint brushes as cheap ones can spoil the fun of painting. It can also have a bad effect on paints in the long run. For water based paints, choose nylon bristles and for oil based paints, go for natural bristles. Good paint can make or mar the overall effect of interior décor. It is imperative to choose right paint, appropriate brushes and color to create the desired effect. Choosing right paint will not only help in creating right impression but will also save you good money in the long run.
