Paintings are a great way to enhance the looks of your room. Apart from paintings, lanterns, decorative curtains and wall hangings also decorate your home. The tingling sound of the wind chime brings peace and positive vibes in to your home and in your life as well. Flower vases can also be kept on side tables beside the bed. These also add a lot of charm to your room.

However, the size and the type will be decided by you depending on the place and the feasibility in your house. It is said that wind chimes are also used to scare away evil spirits and protect ones house.

You can also decorate your room with mirrors and designer wall clocks. Antique bedroom mirrors usually have golden appearance. The antediluvian look of antique bedroom mirror has a great charm. Designer wall clocks that are hand painted also add to home décor. You can also try sculptures.

You can also experiment with various designer mats and carpets that are available. Indian handicraft items can also be bought which brings about the traditional Indian earthy look to one.

Cleaning and Maintenance

It is not just furniture that needs maintenance, but walls and ceilings also require cleaning so that one can preserve their charm and beauty for a longer time. Furniture tends to lose their lustre over time. Hence polishing wood furniture pieces become important. Many a time, people also ill-treat furniture and its fabrics. This is most true in case of dining room furniture. However, with proper care and cleaning, furniture pieces can be efficiently maintained over the years.

Some people are concious about the space allocation and utilization in their homes keeping in mind that they will need to be cleaned and maintained regularly. Such is the planning that goes into designing a good home.

Furniture which is usually made of wood and consists of the bed, drawers, side tables, chests, mirror frames needs proper care. Mirror pieces need dry cleaning. Metal pieces should be cleaned twice once with a damp cloth and then with a dry one. Wooden and metal beds both can be cleaned regularly with a damp cotton cloth to wipe off the dust settled on them. Wooden beds may need a polish after some years to make the wood shine.

One should have indoor fountains pieces in one’s home as they act as natural air purifiers. As water circulates through the fountain, the dust and pollutants in the air are pulled out. The soothing sound of flowing water makes the environment calm and peaceful.

Side table and chests should be cleaned and wiped with a dry or a moist cotton cloth daily. This ensures that the tables do not remain dusty. In case of wooden side tables, one may need to get them polished after some time so that the shine and the glow of the wood are maintained. Special cleaning is required for bedroom for kids, as this is one room that may get dirty the most. Make sure that the furniture you select is easy to clean and does not have sharp edges.
