Painting the ceiling of your home is as important as painting any other part of your house. It can appear simple and easy but it is not as easy as it looks. Ceiling painting requires care and consideration along with proper planning on your behalf. If done poorly, it can spoil the look of your entire home. Painting the ceiling in the proper manner is very crucial in making your household presentable. There are high chances of ruining the furniture or carpet if painting of your ceiling is ill-planned. So, let’s have a look at some of the important tips for ceiling painting.

The first thing that you need to do is to prepare your room before the painting begins. It is often an ignored part that can lead of wastage of resources. You would not like to clean up the mess afterwards. Move all your furniture to other room and arrange plastic drop cloth or canvas drop cloth to put over the floor. Place it properly covering the entire floor or base boards. Also remove all the ceiling fixtures and mirrors or wall arts etc to save them from any painting spillover.

Take a hard look at the surface and get rid of any cobwebs or surface dirt. Surface must be wiped a soft cloth. The ceiling can have water stains or rough patches etc. use right patching compounds before painting and allow them to dry. Use texture to give desired effect to the ceiling. In case of stains, use brush or stain blocker first. Primer will come handy in making the paint roll in a smooth manner. Always use good quality paint.
