Tips for Growing Bamboo Indoors

Most of the people have become conscious towards environment. Nature friendly interior decoration has proved to be a big hit in urban households. One of the most preferred houseplants is bamboo that belongs to the grass family. It is a wonderful ornament items in the context of home decoration. It can be grown anywhere however, it is best suitable for rainy, hot and humid conditions. People prefer it because it is considered as a luck plant. Not surprisingly, it can be planted indoors and bamboo requires minimum maintenance efforts. There are few items you will need to arrange before planting bamboo indoors. Apart from bamboo chutes, water, transparent jar and stones or pebbles will be needed.

 

Firstly, you need to purchase a small but healthy bamboo chute from nursery. Ideally, its stem as well as leaves should be strong and that would be visible from shades of light green. Dark green or yellow shade indicates unhealthy plant. Once the plant has been bought, you need to get hold of a container that could be a jar or glass. Make sure, the jar is transparent so that its roots and consequently its health are visible. Bamboo plant grows quickly so it makes sense to get a large container.

 

After placing the bamboo in the container, add some pebbles or stones around the bottom so that it gets properly covered. Then put some put some water in a way that few inches (2-3 inches) of the stem remain submerged in water. Whenever water level goes down add some more and it will remain healthy. Put the plant at an appropriate location where there is a balance in lighting. Bamboo plant requires balanced temperature and fresh air. Lastly, pay attention to the moisture level and frequent cleaning of the plant and container.
