The first condition here is to choose a place that is very organized. Productivity will only come when your workplace is efficiently managed. Factors like, lighting, ventilation, safety measures, placement, files and stationary items and privacy should be given utmost importance.

Start with lighting factor. Lighting must be balanced. It should not be too bright or too dim. Ne can use overhead lights or accent lights. While choosing the lighting fixtures, focus on sleek and simple factor. Fixtures must complement the décor of the room. Talking about color combination, normally people prefer to have light shades in their home offices. The reason being, light shades bring that element of seriousness and peace that is much required for workplace. To get the required effect, colors like cream, white, tan and off white should be given preference. Those who prefer to have slightly bright feel can opt for blue or purple.

Ventilation is very important in your home office. No external noise and curbing over exposure is also the key. Use quality blinds for privacy purpose and curtains for effect. Furniture must be light. Heavy furniture makes your office room appear bulky and crammed. Have desk, chairs, closets and small cupboards on the walls. For flooring job, one can use wall to wall carpeting or mosaic or hardwood floors. Use area rugs for better effect.
